Last year might have been disappointing for Bollywood but 2011 seems full of promise. Who are the hot Bollywood faces that we should look out for? Check the ones we picked.
Just when you thought it was time to write off the Bengali beauty with the husky voice, she's back playing the feisty journalist in 'No One Killed Jessica'. While the date of her impending wedding with Aditya Chopra is still anyone's guess, Rani will definitely be around for a while.
Kareena quite unabashedly accepted the No.1 spot when KJo asked her who the reigning queen of Bollywood was. Kareena has always been bold and experimental as far as her looks and roles are concerned. For 2011 she already has two big films lined up for release, RA.One with Shah Rukh Khan and Agent Vinod with beau Saif Ali Khan.
Much has been said about the Bebo-PC cold-war, especially after Priyanka started dating Shahid. But all that seems to be the thing of the past, the two are reported to have kissed and made up at an event recently. Priyanka has been consistent and this year her role in Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Saat Khoon Maaf' is definitely one to watch out for.
While Deepika might have been in the news more for her romantic involvements rather than her performances, she definitely has potential and a great body. While we hear more of whether her 'RK' tattoo will stay or go and her outings with Mallya Jr, we hope this year we will hear more of her acting prowess.
After a dream debut, she seemed to be in the news for all the wrong reasons with the fashion faux-pas. However, her performance in 'Paa' and 'Ishqiya' not only got rave reviews but awards are being heaped on her for her bold role in 'Ishqiya'. She impressed her fans with her deglamourized look and awesome acting in 'No One Killed Jessica'. She's bold, beautiful and speaks her mind and we love that about her.
While Anushka might have seemed like a one-film wonder after her debut with none other than King Khan in 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' and then the box-office dud 'Badmaash Company'. Anushka is back in the game playing the spunky Punjabi 'kudi' in 'Band Bajaa Baaraat'. We may have doubts about her upcoming release 'Patiala House' but we hope she makes better choice this year.
Sonakshi impressed in her debut role playing the svelte village belle, Rajjo in 'Dabangg'. We also saw her dawn a glam avatar for a photo-shoot. This year she promises a new look and a variety of roles.
Monica is a playback singer by profession and is the lead singer from Shaair and Func, an alternative Inde band. But she will soon be making her acting debut with 'Dhobi Ghat' which also has Aamir. If Kiran is to be believed, Monica is someone to watch out for.
Sarah Jane Dias won the Miss India pageant in 2007 and is now all set to make her Bollywood debut opposite Abhishek Bachchan in 'Game'. The model turned actress is a huge Shah Rukh fan. Let's hope that she makes a successful transition from the ramp to the big screen.
